This major supports students as they learn about and apply business management and leadership skills and and knowledge to health care settings; areas of focus include: orgranizational communication; community and public health care systems; legal, social and ethical aspects; and healthcare planning and accountability strategies. During the program, students are further developing their professional communicaiton skills in writing, speaking, and technology as well as enhancing critical thinking techniques.
This program is designed for working adults to advance professionally, build leadership capacity, and achieve a bachelor’s degree. The accelerated format of the program is intended to emphasize adult learning strategies and to allow for focus on a topical block of courses in each academic term. During fall and spring semesters, students enroll in four courses, three in six-week formats with an “umbrella” course for the entire eighteen weeks. Each block of courses provides for related studies covering topics of foundations, management, organizational, and practical leadership.
Whatever a student’s aspirations may be and however great the challenges, this program overall emphasizes growth in faith and inspiration for servant leadership so that goals can be accomplished and work-life obstacles minimized.
