This specialty provides an appropriate degree for students who desire to be online instructors at any level or instructional technology coordinators, directors or classroom specialists; the focus is on advanced educational technology knowledge regarding patterns and trends in acceptance, implementation and advancement of technological tools and delivery systems. Relational communication skills and approaches are emphasized as complementary to application skills, program design abilities, and administrative leadership in this program as they play a huge role in the overall professional development of educators and learners alike. The MA is designed to further enhance cognitive, analytical, and reflective thinking skills through research into education theory, practice, and psychology.
For those students in this program seeking certification, a specialized practicum appropriate for the licensure area and a portfolio with presentation are requirements of this program. (A minimum of three years of documented successful teaching with an educator license is desired.
