To declare an English Major:
Major credit requirements:
- At least 36 total credits beyong .
- At least 15 credits in residence of 300 level or above courses.
- Exit cumulative GPA of 2.5 in major.
- If a student also pursues the Writing track, ENG 303, ENG 304, ENG 305, ENG 306, ENG 330 and ENG 335 cannot be used as an elective for the Literary Studies track.
The English Department regularly offers travel course opportunities after the Spring semester. English majors are encouraged to take one travel course prior to completion of their studies. Such opportunities allow a richer cultural understanding of literature that cannot typically be gained in the classroom alone.
