Students of anthropology study the relationship between human biology, the environment, and culture. The core coursework required for a degree in this field, builds upon a student’s understanding of the biogeography of the planet, the global climate, human history, and the adaptive nature of human culture. Through a variety of classroom, laboratory, and field experiences, Wisconsin Lutheran College students gather the knowledge they need to evaluate important prehistoric and historic ecological events, and current models of human biology and behavior.
Students with degrees in anthropology have historically worked in areas of global development, nutrition, biostatistics, archaeology, museum studies, and forensics. Those students wishing to pursue a degree of higher education beyond their undergraduate training may choose graduate-level programs in anthropology, globalization, forensic science, bioarchaeology, criminology, and/or culture resource management.
