NUR 335 - Mental Health 2 credits Introduction to the role of the professional nurse in the care of individuals, families, and communities with a variety of mental health disorders. Exploration of the impact of mental health issues in healthcare systems and the community. Focus on safe, patient-centered care through the use of therapeutic communication and collaboration within the nurse-client relationship. Exploration of the role of the professional nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary care team using evidence-based interventions for mental health issues. Prerequisite(s): NUR 320 and concurrent enrollment in NUR 337 Term Offered: Spring semester
