CJS 302 - Legal Research and Writing 3 credits This course is an introduction to the resources and research methods required for report writing. Students will analyze and write incident reports, investigative reports, arrest reports, and citations. Course topics will include: the interpretation of reports produced by medicolegal personnel, psychiatric and mental health professionals, clinicians, and caseworkers, and the research and writing techniques involved in the production of legal memoranda and trial briefs.
